He didn’t care how wrong it was; he needed his fix.
He climbed the stairs to the second floor, knocked twice, paused, and then knocked once more. A window in the door opened, revealing an orc in a large toque blanche who peeked through, smiling broadly. “Gary! The usual, I assume?”
Gary returned a forced smile. It was concerning how much of a regular he had become, but he couldn’t help himself. “Yes, please. A dozen.” “You’re in luck! The buns came out extra sticky this time,” the orc baker said with a wink.
A rush of excitement, quickly followed by self-loathing, washed over Gary as his smile widened and saliva filled his mouth. “Maybe make it two dozen.”

In a unique arrangement, Grunk served as their impromptu bouncer in exchange for discounts on their artisanal ale. Through countless drunken adventures, he had formed a tight bond with Snik, Fizk, Razz, Klegg, and Zik—each like family to him. All except Zorp. Zorp is the worst.
